Controls Systems Engineer, Deployment Engineering

Fluidstack, an Austin, TX-based company, is hiring a Controls Systems Engineer, Deployment Engineering for a full-time remote position focused on deploying next-generation AI data center infrastructure.

What This Role Involves

This position sits at the intersection of advanced control systems and large-scale infrastructure deployment. You'll manage the launch of building management systems, supervisory control and data acquisition networks, and energy management platforms across multiple data center sites. Your work ensures designs transition from paper to operational reality, that every integration point functions correctly, and that infrastructure handoff to operations teams happens smoothly and reliably.

What You'll Do

• Deploy, configure, and commission BMS, SCADA, and EPMS systems at data center locations through factory acceptance testing, field integration, loop verification, sequence validation, and operational handover
• Maintain and troubleshoot deployed control system performance, respond to real-time alerts on live infrastructure, and implement permanent solutions that eliminate recurring issues
• Identify and resolve integration conflicts between control system layers and connected mechanical and electrical equipment during active commissioning phases
• Program and test control logic sequences, set alarm thresholds, and connect data historian platforms according to operational specifications
• Author and refine commissioning templates, test protocols, and operational procedures to accelerate and standardize deployment cycles

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent professional field
• Hands-on experience deploying and commissioning control systems in industrial or mission-critical environments with direct responsibility for system startup and acceptance testing
• Demonstrated expertise programming and configuring PLCs, SCADA systems, or HMI interfaces using major platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition, or comparable systems
• Proven ability to independently diagnose and resolve control system integration faults and control loop errors during live commissioning
• Willingness to travel to deployment and operations sites up to 50 percent of the time
• Preferred: prior experience with data center environmental and power management systems, ladder logic or structured text programming, industrial alarm protocols, system monitoring platforms, or data center infrastructure management tools
