Service Writer

Oci is hiring a full-time Service Writer in Bluffton, IN. In this role, you'll be the bridge between our customers and our service team, managing work orders, estimates, and the complete service experience with professionalism and attention to detail.

About This Position

As a Service Writer, you'll greet customers, understand their service needs, and create accurate work orders that guide our technicians. This is a critical position where clear communication, organization, and customer focus directly impact satisfaction and efficiency. You'll manage the flow of vehicles through our service department, answer questions about repairs and maintenance, and ensure every customer interaction reflects Oci's commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive customers and discuss their vehicle concerns and service history
• Write detailed, accurate work orders documenting customer requests and vehicle information
• Estimate labor costs and parts needed for repairs and maintenance
• Communicate with technicians about customer concerns and special requests
• Update customers on service progress and any additional work discovered during inspection
• Process payments and manage service records and documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized service area and appointment schedule
• Follow safety protocols and company procedures

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and organized approach to documentation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Customer service experience (retail, automotive, or similar fields preferred)
• Computer proficiency and comfort learning service management software
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional demeanor
