Contract & Claim Manager (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy seeking a Contract & Claim Manager to join their team in München. In this central role, you will:

• Manage damage claims and regulatory matters for engineering contracts, including negotiations and dispute resolution for service deviations or cost overruns
• Draft, review, and adapt contracts in compliance with German contract law and industry-specific fee structures
• Provide advisory services on fee calculations, support cost forecasting, and monitor budgets throughout project lifecycles
• Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving contractual disputes in engineering contexts
• Prepare comprehensive reports and maintain complete documentation for internal and legal purposes
• Coordinate closely with project teams, legal departments, and external partners to ensure smooth operations
• Deliver training and share best practices in contract and claim management with project teams

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a seasoned professional with:

• Completed degree in Law, Construction Management, Business Law, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or comparable qualification
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience in contract and/or claim management, ideally with exposure to German engineering fee regulations (HOAI)
• Strong knowledge of German contract law, particularly HOAI and BGB (Civil Code)
• Proven ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously
• Professional demeanor, negotiation skills, and team collaboration capabilities
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and precision
• Conflict resolution skills
• Excellent German and English language proficiency (minimum C1 level)
