U.S. Xpress is hiring Class A CDL company drivers in West Carthage, Jefferson County for full-time over-the-road (OTR) positions with dry van equipment. About the Role

As an OTR Class A CDL driver, you'll operate a dry van truck hauling freight across the country. This role is ideal for drivers seeking stability, predictable weekly pay, and the chance to be home regularly without sacrificing earning potential.

What You'll Do

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and professionally across long-haul routes
• Log 2,000+ miles per week on average, maintaining compliance with DOT regulations
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logbooks
• Deliver freight to customers on schedule while ensuring cargo integrity
• Build relationships with dispatchers and logistics partners to support on-time delivery

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• 1–5 months of OTR trucking experience (or equivalent)
• Professional attitude and commitment to safety
• Ability to be away from home (12 days out / 2 days home schedule)
• Reliable equipment operation and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

U.S. Xpress offers competitive pay designed to reward experience. Drivers earn 57–64 cents per mile based on experience and performance, with an average of 2,000 miles per week translating to strong weekly earnings. New hires receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus. The company guarantees a $1,500 weekly minimum pay. Top-performing OTR drivers in the fleet earn up to $1,650 or more weekly.

Team driving opportunities are also available, featuring a $5,000 sign-on bonus (split), 0.72–0.80 cents per mile split pay, and an average of 5,000 combined miles per week. If you don't have a team partner, U.S. Xpress will help match you with one.
