Core Duties

• Establish and maintain supportive mentoring relationships with participants living with FASD
• Deliver in-reach transitional guidance that helps people set realistic goals and take concrete next steps
• Coach participants in life skills, decision-making, self-advocacy, and everyday problem-solving
• Connect individuals to relevant services, programs, and natural supports available in the Calgary area
• Coordinate with colleagues and community partners to ensure seamless, person-centred assistance
• Document contacts, track progress, and adapt mentoring plans as circumstances evolve
• Model respectful, strength-based interactions that encourage independence and community belonging

Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and how it can affect learning, behaviour, and daily living
• Experience providing mentoring, coaching, or transitional support to adults or youth facing complex challenges
• Excellent listening, communication, and rapport-building abilities with diverse people
• Capacity to work independently in community settings throughout Calgary while remaining connected to a team
• Willingness and ability to learn local resources, referral pathways, and service systems
• Strong organizational habits for scheduling outreach, keeping records, and managing competing priorities
• Patient, non-judgmental, and reliable approach grounded in person-centred practice
