Chaplain (Part-Time) – Roanoke, VA | **Bilingual Spanish

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential faith-based employee care organization seeking a Part-Time Chaplain for Roanoke, VA. This is a unique ministry-focused role serving employees and their families across multiple client worksites. Bilingual Spanish required.

Please note: While assigned hours are generally consistent week to week, there are no guaranteed minimum hours. Scheduling varies based on chaplain availability and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Make regular visits to company worksites (typically weekly) to build relationships of trust and friendship with employees
• Provide pastoral support during times of crisis: hospital visits, funeral home support, family residences, and other care settings
• Offer confidential discussions for personal issues including family matters, grief recovery, financial stress, parenting, and other life challenges
• Coordinate referral services and specialized assistance for employees with specific needs
• Assist with death notifications and serious injury communications to families and colleagues
• Provide post-termination care for laid-off or terminated employees to support smooth transitions
• Participate in new employee orientations to explain chaplaincy services
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities as appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation according to organizational standards

What We're Looking For

• Bilingual Spanish required – must be fluent in both English and Spanish
• Spiritual maturity and commitment to Christian lifestyle and ministry values
• Attests to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and active participation in a biblically based church
• Fundamental understanding of the Holy Bible and its proper application
• Ability to work effectively in interfaith settings and accept diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values
• Exceptional listening and communication skills with employees and families under stressful circumstances
• High regard for dignity and worth of all individuals
• Emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses
• Strong diplomacy, patience, and courtesy when working with diverse groups
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and make sound judgments on sensitive issues
• Computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, email, and web-based applications
• Valid driver's license and state minimum auto insurance
• Must pass pre-employment background check
