Heart of LA Federal Credit Union is seeking a Business Lending Officer for our Paradise, Rapides Parish location. In this full-time role, you will originate, process, and oversee commercial loans while building lasting relationships with our business members and driving portfolio growth.
About the Role
As a Business Lending Officer, you are responsible for managing our commercial loan portfolio and expanding our member relationships. You will evaluate loan applications, assess credit risk, and support business owners with financing solutions that strengthen both their operations and our credit union's asset base.
What You'll Do
- Process commercial loan applications and conduct thorough financial analysis
- Review member financial statements and evaluate repayment capacity
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business owners and entrepreneurs
- Originate new commercial lending opportunities and grow existing accounts
- Manage loan portfolios and monitor ongoing member account performance
- Ensure lending decisions align with credit policies and regulatory requirements
What We're Looking For
- Experience in commercial lending, business credit analysis, or related lending roles
- Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills
- Ability to evaluate creditworthiness and assess repayment ability
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Knowledge of lending practices and credit evaluation standards
- Detail-oriented approach to loan processing and documentation
