Blackstone is seeking a Principal, Risk for its Multi-Asset Investing (BXMA) division in New York City. As a Principal Risk leader, you will oversee critical risk management functions across our diversified alternative investment platform, reporting to senior management and working alongside investment professionals managing over $1.3 trillion in global assets.

About the Role

As Principal of Risk at Blackstone's Multi-Asset Investing platform, you will establish and enforce risk governance frameworks across real estate, private equity, credit, infrastructure, life sciences, and growth equity strategies. You will lead a team responsible for identifying, measuring, and mitigating enterprise and portfolio-level risks while enabling bold investment decisions.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk policies, limits, and controls aligned with our multi-asset investment thesis
  • Conduct detailed due diligence on complex transactions and portfolio exposures across asset classes
  • Monitor portfolio concentration, leverage, liquidity, and counterparty risks in real time
  • Partner with investment teams to enhance risk-adjusted returns and support capital allocation decisions
  • Report risk metrics to executives, investors, and regulators with clarity and precision
  • Build and mentor a high-performing risk management team
  • Drive continuous improvement in risk infrastructure, modeling, and analytics capabilities

What We're Looking For

You bring deep experience managing risk across multiple asset classes at a premier investment firm. You combine technical rigor with strategic business judgment and have demonstrated leadership in complex, fast-paced environments.

  • 10+ years of progressive risk management experience in alternative assets, private markets, or institutional investing
  • Proven expertise in portfolio risk analysis, valuations, and stress-testing methodologies
  • Strong financial acumen and fluency with quantitative risk models and platforms
  • Track record building and scaling high-performing risk teams
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex risks for diverse stakeholders
  • Advanced degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, or related field preferred
  • CFA or equivalent professional credential a plus
