Join KIPP Capital Region Public Schools as a Behavior Interventionist supporting elementary students in Albany, Albany County. This full-time position starts immediately and extends through the 2026-27 school year, offering you the chance to help students build the social-emotional skills they need to succeed academically and personally.

About the Role

As a Behavior Interventionist in our elementary schools, you'll provide direct support to students navigating behavioral and social-emotional challenges. Your work will help create a positive, structured learning environment where students develop the confidence and self-regulation skills essential to their growth and academic progress.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with elementary students to implement and reinforce positive behavior strategies
  • Partner with classroom teachers and special education staff to support individual student needs
  • Track behavioral progress through observation and data collection
  • Model and encourage problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Support classroom management and provide de-escalation support as needed throughout the school day
  • Communicate with families about student progress, celebrating wins and addressing concerns
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide behavioral initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with elementary-age students in an educational, mentoring, or support role
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Genuine commitment to helping students overcome challenges and grow
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team
