About the Role
As an Associate Attorney specializing in Labor & Employment law, you will provide comprehensive legal counsel to K-12 school districts and community college clients. You'll navigate the complex intersection of employment law, education policy, and regulatory compliance, supporting these institutions in maintaining legally sound, effective educational environments.
What You'll Do
- Advise public school districts and community colleges on employment-related legal matters, from hiring and termination to discipline and policy development
- Draft and review employment contracts, employee handbooks, and compliance policies tailored to educational institutions
- Counsel clients on labor law compliance, including wage and hour regulations, discrimination law, and special education requirements
- Represent clients in employment disputes, grievances, and administrative proceedings
- Maintain expertise on evolving employment law and education-specific regulations affecting client operations
- Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and client partners to resolve complex operational and legal challenges
What We're Looking For
- Licensed attorney admitted to practice in California
- Substantive experience or demonstrated interest in Labor & Employment law
- Background serving public education or public sector clients, or strong commitment to education-focused legal work
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and client relationships effectively
- Sound judgment and dedication to client service in the education sector
