About the Role

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at PNC Bank in Columbus, you'll be the trusted advisor clients turn to when making one of the most significant financial decisions of their lives. You'll work directly with prospective borrowers, analyze their financial profiles, structure loan solutions, and shepherd applications through approval and closing. This is a commission-based origination role that rewards your ability to understand client needs, communicate clearly, and close loans while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Meet with prospective borrowers to discuss mortgage options, explain rates and terms, and structure loan proposals tailored to their financial situation
• Originate residential and commercial mortgage loans across conventional, FHA, VA, and other loan programs
• Review and analyze borrower financial documentation, credit reports, and property appraisals to assess loan viability
• Prepare accurate loan applications and supporting documentation in compliance with federal and state lending regulations
• Maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and referral partners to generate consistent loan opportunities
• Track application status, coordinate with underwriting and closing teams, and provide clients with timely updates
• Build a sustainable loan origination pipeline and consistently meet or exceed sales targets
• Stay current with market conditions, mortgage products, regulatory changes, and best practices in lending

What We're Looking For

• Mortgage Loan Officer license (or willingness to obtain one within your state's timeframe) and clean regulatory history
• Minimum 2+ years of mortgage loan origination or related lending experience
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, rates, and the closing process
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences
• Sales-oriented mindset with proven ability to generate leads, qualify prospects, and close loans
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and compliance
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and manage multiple applications simultaneously
• Proficiency with mortgage software systems and standard productivity tools
