About the Role

As Assistant Store Manager, you'll partner with our Store Manager to oversee all aspects of store operations. This position offers hands-on leadership experience in a growing discount retail environment, working directly with customers and team members in a dynamic community setting.

What You'll Do

• Supervise daily store operations and team performance to ensure smooth, efficient service
• Lead, train, and motivate store associates to deliver excellent customer service and meet sales goals
• Manage cash handling, point-of-sale operations, and financial accuracy
• Oversee inventory management, merchandising, and stock rotation to keep shelves well-stocked and organized
• Open and close the store, maintaining safety, cleanliness, and security standards
• Address customer questions and concerns with professionalism and problem-solving
• Support store events, promotional activities, and community engagement
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and health and safety standards

What We're Looking For

• 1–2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and develop team members
• Comfort with point-of-sale systems and basic financial calculations
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including opening, closing, and some weekends
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation for commuting to Onawa
• A customer-first mindset and commitment to operational excellence
