About the Role

As Assistant Store Manager, you'll support daily store operations and take the lead when the Store Manager is absent. This is a hands-on position combining supervision, merchandising, inventory management, and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. You'll work directly with the store team to ensure our customers receive the quality service Dollar General is known for across the Southeast.

What You'll Do

• Supervise store associates, assign tasks, and provide guidance on customer service standards
• Monitor inventory levels, process shipments, and maintain accurate stock records
• Execute merchandising standards and promotional displays to optimize sales
• Handle cash operations, verify registers, and ensure loss prevention protocols
• Lead by example—greet customers, assist with transactions, and maintain store cleanliness and organization
• Recruit, onboard, and train new team members
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health codes, and safety regulations
• Analyze sales data and assist with scheduling to meet business objectives
