Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Legal Department is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to support our cloud services division in New York City. This full-time position offers hands-on legal experience at a critical time in cloud computing's evolution, working alongside senior counsel on matters that directly impact AWS's business strategy and customer relationships.

About the Role

You'll serve as a trusted legal advisor to AWS business teams, navigating complex corporate and commercial matters across our infrastructure services platform. Reporting to senior counsel, you'll gain deep exposure to technology law, enterprise contracting, regulatory compliance, and the strategic legal issues that define the cloud computing industry.

What You'll Do

• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts and service agreements supporting AWS service offerings
• Provide legal counsel to internal business teams on regulatory matters, compliance requirements, and legal risk
• Analyze emerging legal and regulatory developments affecting cloud computing, data protection, and artificial intelligence
• Support contract negotiations and due diligence with enterprise customers, strategic partners, and vendors
• Evaluate legal risks and compliance implications for new AWS service launches and business initiatives
• Collaborate with privacy, compliance, and policy teams on regulatory adherence and governance
• Maintain corporate legal records, policies, and documentation standards

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission in New York or eligibility to obtain it
• 1–3 years of professional experience in corporate law, commercial contracting, or a related legal field
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in contract and legal document review
• Interest in technology law, cloud computing, and emerging business issues a plus
