Assistant Professor of Marketing (Sales)

Cal Poly's Orfalea College of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marketing (Sales) in San Luis Obispo. About the Role

The Marketing Area at the Orfalea College of Business seeks a faculty member committed to developing the next generation of sales and marketing leaders. In this tenure-track role, you will teach courses in sales management, strategy, and customer relationships while advancing original scholarship in your area of expertise. You'll work within a collaborative, student-centered academic community that emphasizes practical, real-world learning.

What You'll Do

• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sales, sales management, and related marketing disciplines
• Conduct and publish original research in marketing, sales strategy, or related business fields
• Mentor and advise students in their academic progress and professional development
• Participate in departmental curriculum development, committee service, and college initiatives
• Collaborate with colleagues across business disciplines on interdisciplinary programs
• Maintain connections with industry practitioners and sales/marketing organizations

What We're Looking For

• Ph.D. or ABD in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
• Demonstrated excellence or strong potential in college-level teaching
• Commitment to scholarly research and publication in peer-reviewed outlets
• Expertise or research focus in sales, sales management, or core marketing areas
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within academic environments
• Professional engagement with sales and marketing industry trends
