Role Overview

As Assistant Operations Director, you'll partner with the Director of Operations to lead comprehensive facility management, tenant relations, and property performance. You'll oversee critical functions including security protocols, maintenance operations, budget management, and staff development while maintaining the operational standards that define the Simon brand. This role bridges strategic planning with hands-on execution, making you essential to the property's success and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations including facility maintenance, security, housekeeping, and asset protection
• Manage tenant relations, lease compliance, and operational issue resolution in partnership with property leadership
• Oversee operational budgets, vendor management, and capital improvement initiatives
• Supervise operations staff, provide performance feedback, and cultivate a culture of accountability
• Monitor and report on key performance metrics; identify and implement operational improvements
• Ensure full compliance with safety codes, regulatory requirements, and company policies
• Coordinate with leasing and marketing teams to enhance property presentation and tenant satisfaction

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, property management, real estate, or related discipline
• 5+ years in operations management, retail property management, or commercial real estate
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities
• Strong financial management skills and experience with budget oversight
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills
• Proficiency with property management systems and standard office software
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities independently
