What You'll Do
- Teach reading and basic skills instruction to kindergarten through sixth-grade students
- Deliver English and Spanish language support to bilingual learners
- Assess student literacy levels and differentiate instruction based on individual needs
- Create engaging lesson plans that develop phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with families about literacy development
- Collaborate with special education providers, speech specialists, and classroom teachers
- Establish a respectful, inclusive learning environment where students feel supported
What We're Looking For
- Valid Minnesota K-12 Reading License, or K-6 Elementary Education licensure
- Experience teaching reading instruction or literacy intervention in elementary classrooms
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Strong knowledge of reading science, phonics, assessment, and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility, reliability, and commitment to supporting student success
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative school community
