Community Support Worker – Youth

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team in Nelson, South Island. As a Community Support Worker - Youth at Pact ELMO, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people with intellectual disabilities and mental health & addiction challenges to achieve their goals and build independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to youth clients, fostering their personal growth and development.
• Facilitate social activities that promote inclusion and community engagement for young people.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care plans are in place and effectively implemented.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of vocational training programs to enhance employability skills.
• Document client progress, maintaining accurate records and reports.

Requirements

• A compassionate and patient individual with a strong desire to make a positive impact on young people's lives.
• Experience in youth support or related field is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to the organization’s culture.
• Licensed driver and access to personal vehicle for travel between support locations.
