About the Role
At SumUp, our contact centre platform is a critical component that ensures merchant support runs smoothly across all global markets. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will take full technical ownership of this space, reviewing current setups, driving new technology implementations, and leading AI-powered support initiatives.
- Review the current contact centre setup to identify areas for improvement
- Design and enhance automation and AI-powered self-service solutions, including conversational AI agents and intelligent call routing
- Administer and evolve our Five9 environment, maintaining integrations with internal systems via APIs and Salesforce
- Lead the implementation of AI voice solutions, including an Agent Copilot tool for real-time support during calls
- Collaborate closely with operations, product, and engineering teams to align on tooling decisions that reduce friction for merchants and agents
- Mentor junior team members to build contact centre and AI capability across the team
What You Bring
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with solid experience in contact centre platform development and administration, hands-on knowledge of Five9 or similar platforms, and strong API integration skills. Proficiency in JavaScript and Salesforce is required, along with comfort working in distributed systems environments.
