Role Overview

Join Atom Computing, a leading developer of quantum computers using arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms. In this role as a Principal Platform Engineer, you will design and implement infrastructure that spans on-prem lab environments and cloud platforms, driving key trade-offs in reliability, security, scalability, and cost.

What You'll Do

• Design and build systems that power Atom Computing's quantum computing and research workflows.
• Navigate complex design problems with strong systems thinking skills.
• Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and control systems teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components.
• Ensure the reliability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of Atom Computing's platform.

What We're Looking For

• Solid expertise in infrastructure and platform engineering.
• Strong systems thinking skills to navigate complex design problems.
• A minimum of 3 days per week presence at the Boulder, Colorado office for collaboration with teams.
• Experience in designing and implementing on-prem lab environments and cloud platforms.
