Staff Software Engineer, Developer Experience at Docker in England - Full Time, No Remote
Position Summary
Docker is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Developer Experience team. As one of the most trusted brands in developer tooling, Docker supports over 20 billion container image pulls and serves more than 20 million monthly users across various industries. Our team builds backend systems and product capabilities that help developers understand, secure, and ship software with confidence. We are a globally distributed, remote-first organization dedicated to providing the tools for autonomous workflows.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend systems supporting Docker Scout, Docker Hardened Images, and other developer experiences.
- Work in a polyglot environment using Clojure, Go, Kafka, Datomic, and Spanner services.
- Create event-driven workflows to enhance developer productivity and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets business needs.
- Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools thoughtfully and ensure the quality, security, and operability of your work.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an adaptable backend engineer who can quickly become effective in an unfamiliar codebase. While Clojure experience is useful, it is not a requirement. You should be able to choose technology pragmatically and help other engineers do the same. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality software are essential.
