About the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production floor through supervision and development of a team of approximately 20-30 associates. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient product movement, maintaining quality standards, and addressing any issues that arise on the production line.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Follows established safety rules: Ensures all staff adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Directs supervision of production staff: Trains associates, plans and assigns work, appraises performance, rewards and disciplines associates, resolves conflicts, builds teams, coaches associates, addresses complaints, and documents issues.
- Maintains efficient workflows: Monitors processes and variables, implements cost reductions, develops reporting procedures and systems.
- Completes production plans: Establishes priorities, monitors progress, revises schedules, resolves problems, and reports results or issues.
- Ensures operation of equipment: Calls for repairs and preventative maintenance, assists in troubleshooting machine issues.
- Provides manufacturing information: Compiles, initiates, sorts, analyzes production performance records and data, answers questions, and responds to requests.
- Creates and revises systems and procedures: Analyzes operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment: Educates and directs associates on the use of all equipment and safety protocols.
