About the Role
As a Part Time Custom Framer at Michaels, you'll work directly with customers to design and create custom-framed artwork, photographs, memorabilia, and personal keepsakes. This position combines technical framing craft with customer collaboration to deliver tailored solutions that preserve and showcase customers' most valued pieces.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Consult with customers about frame styles, mat selections, glass options, and design preferences
- Measure and accurately cut mat boards and glass to customer specifications
- Assemble frames and arrange matting using proper tools and framing techniques
- Advise customers on color combinations, composition, and protective framing methods
- Process custom orders, manage project timelines, and ensure quality throughout completion
- Maintain organized work areas and inventory of framing materials
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with picture framing, mat cutting, or similar craft work
- Meticulous attention to detail and precision in measurements and assembly
- Strong communication skills and genuine interest in helping customers find their ideal frame
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within our Reno store team
- Familiarity with framing materials, tools, and design aesthetics
- Reliable access to our 4871 Kietzke Ln location in Reno
