About This Position
As Shift Leader at Coffeeandbagelbrands in Raleigh, you'll be the key management presence during your shift, overseeing all aspects of store operations. You'll report directly to store management and serve as the primary decision-maker and problem-solver when the manager is off-site. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining high standards for product quality, customer service, and team performance in a dynamic café environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise crew members during assigned shifts, delegating tasks and ensuring productivity
- Monitor food preparation, presentation, and quality control to meet brand standards
- Handle cash management, register operations, and point-of-sale procedures
- Welcome customers and ensure exceptional service experiences consistently
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including equipment checks and store security
- Train new and existing team members on company procedures, products, and customer service standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with health codes
- Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and communicate ordering needs to management
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate complex issues appropriately
- Contribute to a positive team culture and support fellow crew members
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in food service or hospitality
- Strong track record of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate others
- Customer service expertise and passion for creating positive guest experiences
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain composed in high-volume, fast-paced settings
- Basic math skills and comfort with point-of-sale systems and cash handling
- Food safety and health code knowledge (certification a plus)
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Flexibility to work shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Positive attitude and commitment to operational excellence
