Hiring Automotive Service Technicians

Suburban Buick GMC of Troy is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our full-time service team in Troy, Michigan. If you have the expertise to diagnose and repair vehicles and take pride in delivering quality workmanship, we want to hear from you.

What This Role Involves

As an Automotive Service Technician at our dealership, you'll be the backbone of our service operations, working on Buick and GMC vehicles alongside experienced technicians. Your role combines diagnostic skill, mechanical expertise, and customer service—ensuring every vehicle leaves our Troy facility in top condition while building customer loyalty through reliable, transparent service.

Core Duties

• Perform scheduled maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, and fluid checks
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment and your technical knowledge
• Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle systems
• Document work accurately in service records and communicate findings to service advisors and customers
• Follow all safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines for all repairs and maintenance
• Keep work areas organized and maintain inventory of tools and parts

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ASE certification or equivalent automotive training preferred
• Proven experience as an automotive service technician or in a related mechanical role
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, repair procedures, and safety standards
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computer-based service documentation systems
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete work to manufacturer specifications
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Professional communication skills and commitment to customer satisfaction
