Animal Welfare Coordinator

Prestage seeks an Animal Welfare Coordinator to join our team at our Eagle Grove, Iowa facility. In this full-time position, you'll play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of animals across our operations while maintaining compliance with animal welfare standards and best practices.

Position Summary

The Animal Welfare Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, assessing, and documenting animal welfare conditions across farm operations. You'll work closely with farm staff and management to identify concerns, implement improvements, and maintain detailed records that demonstrate our commitment to animal health and safety standards. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, genuine care for animal welfare, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

What You'll Do

• Conduct regular animal welfare assessments and monitoring across farm facilities
• Document observations, concerns, and improvements in detailed records and reports
• Collaborate with farm managers and staff to address animal health and welfare issues
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare policies, protocols, and applicable regulations
• Respond to and investigate animal welfare concerns reported by team members
• Recommend and support implementation of welfare improvements and best practices
• Maintain clear communication with management regarding welfare status and trends

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Genuine commitment to animal welfare and agricultural best practices
• Ability to work in a farm environment and handle physical demands
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and follow established protocols
• Valid driver's license preferred
