Role Overview

As an Animal Caretaker at Prestage, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and monitoring of animals entrusted to our facility. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our animals. Responsibilities

• Provide daily feeding and fresh water to animals according to established schedules and nutritional requirements
• Clean and maintain animal enclosures, barns, pens, and surrounding areas to ensure safe, sanitary living conditions
• Monitor animal health and behavior; report any signs of illness, injury, or distress to supervisors immediately
• Assist with basic veterinary care and medical procedures as directed by supervisory staff
• Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding logs, and health observations
• Follow all safety protocols and facility regulations to protect yourself, your team, and the animals
• Perform equipment maintenance and repairs as needed to support daily operations
• Respond to emergency situations and assist with animal handling as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience with animal care or in an agricultural setting is valuable
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in varying weather conditions
• Genuine commitment to animal welfare and safety standards
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliability and ability to work a consistent schedule, including early mornings
• Willingness to follow detailed instructions and facility protocols
• Valid driver's license preferred
