The Opportunity
As a Software Engineer at PortSwigger, you'll contribute to building the next generation of web application security products used by security professionals worldwide. You'll work on real challenges in software development, from architecture and design through to implementation and maintenance. This role offers the chance to influence how security testing tools evolve and to collaborate with a team committed to high-quality, reliable software.
Core Duties
- Design, develop, and test software features and components
- Collaborate with colleagues to analyse requirements, solve technical problems, and deliver solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
- Investigate and resolve bugs, performance issues, and system limitations
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from planning through release
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, C++, or C#
- Solid understanding of software design principles and development best practices
- Experience working with version control systems and collaborative development workflows
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
