Role Overview
As a Senior Associate (Corporate) at Pogust Goodhead, you will play a pivotal role in managing substantial corporate transactions, providing strategic legal counsel, and leading transaction teams through the full lifecycle of complex deals. Working within our London office, you will report to experienced partners and work alongside fellow associates and junior legal professionals, owning your own matters whilst contributing to the broader corporate practice.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead and manage corporate transactions from inception through completion, including mergers and acquisitions, equity financing, and corporate restructuring
- Conduct thorough due diligence on corporate matters, assessing commercial, legal, and regulatory risk
- Draft, review, and negotiate corporate documentation including shareholder agreements, purchase agreements, and constitutional documents
- Advise clients on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic business considerations
- Manage project timelines, coordinate with external advisors, and maintain strong stakeholder communication throughout transactions
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the professional development of the corporate team
- Stay current with corporate law developments and evolving market practices affecting our clients
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification recognised in England) with substantial post-qualification experience in corporate law
- Demonstrated expertise in managing corporate transactions and complex commercial negotiations
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritise effectively, and meet demanding deadlines
- Strong analytical and drafting capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and client-management skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with genuine commitment to building lasting client relationships
