What This Role Involves
As our Superintendent - Commercial, you'll be the on-site leader for commercial construction projects, responsible for translating plans into built results. You'll coordinate daily activities, manage project teams, maintain safety standards, and communicate project status to clients and stakeholders. Your decisions directly impact project quality, schedule, and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities and coordinate crew performance on commercial job sites
- Manage subcontractors, material deliveries, and equipment to maintain project schedule
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain compliance with building codes and regulations
- Inspect work quality throughout all phases of construction and document progress
- Monitor project budgets and track costs to control profitability
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and solutions to clients and the main office
- Resolve on-site conflicts and adapt to changing conditions or scope requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a construction superintendent or project manager on commercial projects
- Thorough understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety standards
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency with construction management software and basic computer skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between job sites as needed
