Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential construction technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their product delivery team. You will work at the heart of a digital manufacturing operation, building software that transforms design models into physical building components at industrial scale.

In this role, you will:

• Design, build, test, and operate software solutions for logistics and manufacturing systems, including robotics, automated guided vehicles, and semi-automated production equipment
• Collaborate closely with industrial engineers to translate production requirements into clear technical specifications and practical solution concepts
• Take full ownership of your team's software—including infrastructure, build pipelines, automated testing, deployment, rollout management, monitoring, and operational support during factory working hours
• Identify gaps and under-attended areas within your product domain and across teams, proactively assuming responsibility for improvements
• Write software both independently and through pair programming with colleagues
• Deploy and roll out changes to live production systems with a solid testing approach
• Troubleshoot and support the software your team has developed during operational hours

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a senior engineer who combines strong technical fundamentals with operational ownership. You should be curious, pragmatic, and motivated by solving complex problems where software directly impacts physical manufacturing.

Must-have qualifications:

• Proven experience building, testing, deploying, and operating software in production environments
• Ownership mentality—you take responsibility for understanding and continuously improving the systems your team builds
• Strong knowledge of modern delivery practices including CI/CD, feature flags, incremental rollouts, and rollback strategies
• Deep understanding of production reliability, resilient system patterns, incident management, post-mortems, and the business impact of downtime
• Proficiency with Kotlin/Spring Boot, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Azure cloud infrastructure
• Thoughtful use of modern AI-enabled tools to improve engineering quality, speed, and continuous learning
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements

This position is based in Richen, Baden-Württemberg, with a hybrid work model offering flexibility to work from home or the office on your preferred schedule.
