Medical Data Intern (x/f/m)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential healthtech organization seeking a Medical Data Intern for their Terminology and Ontology team in Berlin. This is a 6-month full-time internship starting in January 2027, with a hybrid work model allowing up to 2 days remote per week.

In this role, you will contribute to making medical information clear, structured, and usable across digital health products. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collecting and formatting sets of terms describing pathologies, allergies, treatments, and other medical concepts based on standard medical terminologies such as ICD-10 and SNOMED CT
• Adapting medical labels to create versions that are understandable to both patients and healthcare professionals
• Translating medical labels from English into German
• Mapping medical lists of terms across different products
• Selecting and filtering terms, then validating your choices with medical experts
• Sharing your work and methodology with the team and product teams
• Delivering sets of terms to technical teams in the correct format

What We're Looking For

Essential requirements:

• Medical skills gained through a diploma or degree that includes medical-domain learning
• Knowledge of data management
• Familiarity with medical terminologies such as ICD-10 and SNOMED CT
• Strong spreadsheet skills, including Google Sheets or Excel and the use of formulas
• Attention to detail and rigorous approach to work
• Fluency in both German and English (required for this role)

Nice to have:

• Experience using AI tools
• Python programming skills
• Additional depth of medical knowledge
• Dutch language skills
