Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential streaming technology organization in Cambridge seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning to join their advertising performance group. In this position, you will apply state-of-the-art research and conduct original research to develop novel methodologies addressing challenging problems in advertising technology.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Building and deploying advanced deep learning discriminative models for conversion modeling, calibration, and performance optimization
• Developing generative models to create and optimize image and video advertising content
• Working on forecasting and time-series modeling, yield optimization, and margin analysis
• Designing and implementing experimentation frameworks for A/B and multivariate testing
• Conducting applied research aligned with attribution methodologies and dynamic creative optimization
• Staying current with the latest advancements in machine learning, reinforcement learning, and AI
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy solutions at scale with low latency requirements

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a strong technical leader with deep expertise in statistical techniques and modern deep learning approaches. The ideal candidate will have:

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
• Extensive experience in applied research using statistical and deep learning techniques
• Published research papers on deep learning models for advertising or related domains
• Solid grasp of both discriminative and generative model architectures
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in the advertising domain (preferred)
• Contributions to open-source machine learning projects (preferred)

This role operates in a hybrid working environment with in-office presence Monday through Thursday and flexible remote work on Fridays.
