Freelance SEO/GEO Consultant (m/w/d) für 3 Monate

Responsibilities

We are representing a specialized digital agency in the DACH region, seeking a freelance SEO/GEO consultant for a three-month engagement. You will work closely with our client's SEO manager, supporting operational implementation across multiple concurrent projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Keyword Research & Content Planning: Conduct keyword and prompt research for traditional search engines and AI-powered search systems; create editorial calendars based on keyword and topic clusters; develop SEO content briefs for external writers; identify content gaps and new opportunities
• On-Page SEO & Content Optimization: Optimize page titles, meta descriptions, and headings in WordPress; develop internal linking structures; select and optimize images and page elements; identify and resolve keyword cannibalization; enhance existing website texts for keywords, search intent, and structure
• SEO Strategy & Consulting: Support preparation of regular client meetings with analyses and presentations; assess SEO status of new and existing websites; provide SEO guidance during website launches, relaunches, and migrations; identify optimization opportunities and develop actionable recommendations; conduct competitive analyses
• Technical SEO: Review crawling and indexing; identify and resolve technical SEO issues; verify redirects, canonical tags, and status codes
• Monitoring & Reporting: Evaluate and continuously monitor SEO performance using Google Search Console and SISTRIX; analyze ranking losses and traffic declines
• Off-Page SEO: Monitor new and lost backlinks; manage directory listings
• AI Search & GEO: Analyze visibility in Google AI Overviews and AI-powered search systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini; develop measures to optimize visibility in generative engine results

What We're Looking For

• Several years of SEO experience, ideally within an agency or managing multiple client projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with Google Search Console, SISTRIX, and common crawling tools such as Screaming Frog
• Strong understanding of technical SEO and WordPress
• Experience with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and visibility in AI search systems
• Experience working remotely and using digital communication and project management tools
• Reliability and ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Structured, independent working style with enthusiasm for team collaboration
• Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken
• Advantageous: Experience with websites in the legal or consulting sectors
