Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking an experienced Tax Operations Associate (Steuerfachwirt:in) to join their Berlin team. In this role, you will be central to delivering exceptional tax services for SME clients in a modern, technology-driven environment.

Your responsibilities include:

• Managing and processing tax matters for SME clients from bookkeeping through tax return preparation
• Ensuring high-quality, timely end-to-end service delivery for clients
• Collaborating closely with tax advisors and product teams to continuously improve processes
• Independently identifying manual, recurring tasks and actively working to automate or optimize them
• Utilizing AI-powered platforms and digital tools to enhance efficiency and quality in daily work
• Communicating with clients at a high professional level with clarity, empathy, and solution-oriented approach
• Critically reflecting on your own working methods to drive personal and team improvement

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who brings both technical excellence and a forward-thinking mindset:

• Completed training as Steuerfachangestellte:r or comparable qualification with minimum 4 years professional experience
• Desire to go beyond routine processing—you think critically, question processes, and want to create genuine value
• Strong initiative: you recognize what needs to be done and take action without waiting for direction
• Comfort with new tools and technologies: you're curious, learn quickly, and want to actively master digital working methods
• Critical self-reflection: you know your strengths, recognize gaps, and actively work to develop yourself and your team
• Quality-conscious approach: you deliver carefully, reliably, and with genuine pride in your work
• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a strong plus
• Willingness to work fully on-site at their Berlin office
• Fluent German required; English proficiency advantageous

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience level.
