Responsibilities

Our client, a fast-growing technology company in the tax services sector, is seeking an experienced Tax Operations Associate to join their remote team. In this role, you will:

• Handle end-to-end tax processes for SME clients, from financial bookkeeping through tax return preparation
• Ensure high-quality, timely service delivery for all client engagements
• Collaborate closely with tax advisors and product teams to continuously improve operational workflows
• Identify manual, repetitive tasks and actively participate in automating or optimizing these processes
• Utilize AI-powered platforms and digital tools to enhance efficiency and quality in daily work
• Communicate with clients professionally, clearly, and empathetically to provide solutions-oriented support
• Critically reflect on your own work methods to identify learning opportunities and help the team operate more efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Completed training as a tax specialist (Steuerfachangestellte:r) or comparable qualification
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in tax operations
• Strong initiative and proactive mindset—you recognize what needs to be done and take action
• Genuine interest in going beyond routine processing to create real value through process improvement
• Comfort with new tools and technologies; curiosity to learn and actively embrace digital workflows
• Capacity for critical self-reflection and continuous personal and team development
• Quality-conscious approach with attention to detail and reliability
• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a strong plus
• Fluent German required; English skills are advantageous
• Willingness to work on-site in Berlin (remote candidates should note quarterly Berlin visits are expected)
