Senior Software Engineer Data & ML (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in data engineering and machine learning. In this role, you will:

• Analyze client data, develop machine learning models, and evaluate them using both technical and domain-specific criteria
• Build and operate end-to-end data pipelines from source system integration through transformation to production deployment
• Productionize ML models into robust services, handling training pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and retraining workflows
• Contribute backend development as projects require, including APIs, services, and data processing integrations
• Write production-quality code that goes beyond prototypes—tested, documented, and maintainable
• Translate business requirements into concrete use cases while providing realistic assessments of what's achievable with available data
• Collaborate actively on reference architecture and contribute innovative ideas to the technical roadmap

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience:

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics
• Minimum three years of professional experience working on client-facing projects

Technical Skills:

• Strong Python proficiency with the standard data science stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow)
• Experience with LLMs, GenAI, and RAG architectures or fine-tuning, plus a practical understanding of when GenAI is—and isn't—the right solution
• Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases; OpenSearch knowledge is a plus
• Hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines—software engineering best practices are second nature to you
• Knowledge of additional languages like TypeScript or Java is advantageous
• Experience with MLFlow, KServe, and Kubernetes is a bonus

• Structured, reliable, and self-driven approach—you maintain clarity even in ambiguous situations and document your work thoroughly
• Pragmatic hands-on mentality: you address problems wherever they arise, even when they fall outside traditional data science boundaries
