About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software development tools company that is building a next-generation agentic development environment. This is a rare opportunity to join as the third designer on a small, high-impact team working on a genuinely new category of developer tooling—one that goes beyond traditional IDEs to help developers orchestrate AI-driven workflows.

As Staff Product Designer, you'll own the web interface and design process for the automations experience. You'll be working at the intersection of AI, developer workflows, and interface design—turning ambiguous product directions into shipped features that define how developers will work in the future.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the web interface, including team management, automation setup, and results visualization
• Establish design processes and review practices for the automations sub-team, working directly with engineering
• Define scope and turn vague product direction into concrete plans and shipped experiences—saying no when needed
• Evolve the design system across web and desktop surfaces, maintaining consistency while allowing each platform to excel
• Use AI tools and rapid prototyping techniques to move ideas forward faster
• Participate in cross-team demos and quarterly planning, bringing design perspective to product strategy

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of product design experience with demonstrated business impact
• Strong ownership mindset—you see features through from design to production and consider delivery part of your role
• Excellent cross-team project delivery skills; ability to work with limited context, clarify priorities, and drive projects forward independently
• Active AI user who incorporates AI tools into your design workflow and has experimented with code-based prototyping (Cursor, Claude, or similar)
• Solid Figma proficiency with components, tokens/variables, and design systems—you can navigate existing systems and contribute new components thoughtfully
• Experience with developer-focused products or technical tooling (IDEs, dashboards, data tools) is a strong plus
• Familiarity with design engineering, vibe-coding, or code-level prototyping is valuable
• Understanding of agentic or AI-native interface patterns—trust signals, human-in-the-loop flows, error handling at scale—is beneficial
