About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization in their search for a Field Solutions Engineer based in London. This role focuses on supporting technical sales, customer engagements, and demonstrations for an advanced autonomy software platform that enables intelligent, mission-capable unmanned systems across complex operational environments.

As a customer-facing technical expert, you will work with defense and security customers across Europe, the United Kingdom, NATO, African markets, and allied partner nations. You'll translate mission needs and operational constraints into credible technical solutions, supporting the full range of customer discovery, technical briefings, demonstrations, RFIs, RFPs, and technical interchange meetings.

This position requires technical credibility, strong communication skills, regional awareness, and the ability to connect autonomy capabilities to real customer missions across varied international operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer-facing technical expert for autonomy solutions across the Europe, UK, Africa region
• Support customer discovery, technical briefings, demonstrations, technical interchange meetings, and capture activities
• Translate customer mission needs, operational objectives, and integration constraints into credible solution concepts
• Partner with Business Development and Capture teams to support RFIs, RFPs, proposals, white papers, and customer-facing technical narratives
• Explain autonomy capabilities, limitations, roadmap considerations, and integration requirements to technical, operational, and leadership audiences
• Develop and maintain technical sales assets including capability briefs, demo scripts, solution templates, FAQs, and white papers
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Program teams to represent customer requirements, technical risks, and field feedback
• Help customers evaluate how autonomy can support operational effectiveness, mission planning, and force modernization
• Build trusted relationships with customer technical stakeholders, regional partners, and internal cross-functional teams
• Operate independently across complex international customer engagements while maintaining internal alignment
• Tailor technical messaging, demonstrations, and solution concepts to regional customer missions and operating environments

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in solutions engineering, field applications engineering, systems engineering, technical sales, autonomy, robotics, defense software, aerospace, or related technical customer-facing roles
• Strong technical understanding of autonomy, AI-enabled systems, mission software, unmanned systems, robotics, or complex defense technology systems
• Experience supporting customer-facing technical engagements such as demos, technical briefings, proposal support, integration discussions, or operational workshops
• Experience supporting international defense, security, aerospace, government, or advanced technology customers
• Ability to translate customer mission needs into technically feasible solution concepts, requirements, demos, and product feedback
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, and Program teams
• Strong judgment in representing product capabilities, limitations, and roadmap dependencies to customers
• Demonstrated ability to build trust through technical credibility, responsiveness, and clear communication
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally for customer engagements, demonstrations, and meetings
• Ability to work from or regularly support activities in London, United Kingdom
• Professional fluency in English

Preferred qualifications:

• Direct experience supporting defense, security, aerospace, autonomy, or robotics customers in Europe, the UK, NATO, Africa, or allied international markets
• Familiarity with regional defense modernization priorities, operational environments, customer engagement norms, or acquisition processes
• Experience working with ministries of defense, armed forces, government stakeholders, defense primes, or systems integrators
• Experience with autonomous aircraft, unmanned systems, robotic systems, AI-enabled mission systems, or defense software platforms
• Hands-on experience with Python, C++, Linux, APIs, SDKs, autonomy software, or robotics middleware
• Familiarity with autonomy development workflows, mission planning, system integration, or operational evaluation
• Experience supporting proposals, RFIs, RFPs, white papers, technical volumes, or complex capture activities
• Experience working across varied customer cultures, acquisition processes, and operational concepts
• Prior military, defense, aerospace, robotics, unmanned systems, or advanced software experience
• Demonstrated ability to create clear, reusable technical content for business development and customer engagement
