About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology organization in a specialized red-team engagement focused on model safety and dual-use risk assessment. This remote contract role requires expertise in explosive ordnance disposal and hazardous device operations to help evaluate AI system responses in sensitive technical domains.
Responsibilities
- Develop challenging single-turn prompts covering energetic materials and propulsion systems, categorizing them as benign, dual-use, or adversarial
- Evaluate AI-generated responses against defined policy standards to determine correct handling
- Author reference answers with detailed technical reasoning for appropriate responses
- Ensure models appropriately refuse genuinely dangerous queries while answering legitimate technical questions comprehensively
- Work independently on an asynchronous schedule to meet project deadlines
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Certified bomb technician or hazardous device operator background
- Military EOD experience combined with civilian public-safety, training, or instructional roles
- Background as a bomb squad commander or training officer
- Experience conducting post-blast investigation and device reconstruction
- CBRNE technical response expertise
Preferred:
- Technical writing experience, published research, or expert witness testimony background
