Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential robotics organization in Munich seeking a skilled Mid/Senior Robotics or Mechatronics Technician/Engineer. In this role, you will ensure robotics systems remain fully operational while developing robust hardware solutions for cutting-edge automation applications.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining robotics systems to ensure continuous operational readiness
- Creating detailed technical documentation, drawings, and assembly instructions for testing rigs and components
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams across mechanical, software, and manufacturing disciplines
- Managing Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, quality control documentation, and SOPs
- Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electronics issues during development and production
- Performing assembly and disassembly of robot components, cables, PCBs, and related devices
- Executing soldering, desoldering, wiring, and troubleshooting tasks using oscilloscopes and signal analyzers
- Supporting procurement by identifying products, sourcing suppliers, and obtaining quotations
- Working autonomously on evolving, open-ended technical challenges
- Traveling approximately 50% to client sites, including potential business trips to China
What We're Looking For
Essential qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with SMD component soldering and desoldering
- Proficiency in Altium or SolidWorks (recommended)
- Strong knowledge of electronics design principles
- Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written
- Understanding of robotics actuators and sensors; familiarity with force/torque sensors, encoders, and IMUs is recommended
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting) is a plus
- Ability to develop fast solutions to common technical problems
Beneficial experience:
- 3-5 years of proven work experience in robotics, mechatronics, or automation
- Background in designing robust cabling solutions and wire harnesses
- Familiarity with PCB production stages and electronics design
- Knowledge of structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis for design validation
- Firmware development experience
