Business Data Analyst Finance & Requirements Management (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential organization in Berlin seeking a Business Data Analyst to bridge business, finance, and technical teams. In this role, you will translate business requirements into data-driven solutions while ensuring quality and consistency across financial processes.

Your responsibilities include:

• Gathering, structuring, and evaluating requirements from business, finance, controlling, and adjacent departments
• Analyzing business processes, data flows, and use cases with focus on accounting transactions, invoicing, commission flows, and reporting needs
• Validating data for plausibility, completeness, consistency, and fit-for-purpose alignment
• Developing and documenting business requirements and translating them into actionable technical specifications
• Creating functional concepts, specifications, data logic documentation, mapping documents, acceptance criteria, and test cases
• Coordinating requirements, priorities, and solution approaches between business units and technical teams
• Supporting quality assurance and performing functional validation of implemented solutions and reports
• Documenting and continuously optimizing processes, requirements, and data structures

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree or training in business administration, finance/controlling, business informatics, data analysis, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience analyzing commercial, financial, or billing-related data
• Experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, or a comparable interface function
• Strong understanding of business and financial processes, particularly in billing, reporting, commissions, controlling, or finance
• Ability to systematically gather business requirements, critically evaluate them, prioritize, and convert them into clear implementation requirements
• Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of data structures, data quality, and functional data modeling
• Experience with BI and reporting solutions; knowledge of SQL, Python, or comparable scripting/programming languages is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and ability to bring together diverse stakeholders
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
• Fluent German and good English skills

This is a part-time position (30 hours per week) based in Berlin with hybrid flexibility.
