Senior Software Engineer | API Enterprise

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their API Enterprise team in London. Our client is a global leader in language AI, serving hundreds of thousands of business customers worldwide. This role sits at the critical intersection of API platform development and enterprise customer adoption, focusing on the governance, compliance, and control features that enterprise organizations require.

As part of our talent team at Get A Job.ai, we're looking for a backend-focused engineer who thinks product-first and understands what enterprise IT and security teams need to confidently adopt and scale API solutions across their organizations.

Your Responsibilities

• Drive enterprise API adoption by building features that convert interest into sustained usage, including usage insights, cost controls, and consumption management tools
• Design and implement governance and compliance capabilities such as role-based access control, project management, data residency options, and audit trails that meet enterprise security requirements
• Own services end-to-end including production reliability, participating in on-call rotations with a goal of achieving four nines uptime for the public API
• Implement comprehensive contract testing, monitoring, and SLOs to prevent breaking changes and security vulnerabilities before they impact customers
• Navigate cross-team dependencies and collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups to deliver cohesive enterprise features across the ecosystem
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery and focus on high-value architecture and complex problem-solving

What We're Looking For

• Deep backend expertise with C# /.NET, including experience designing scalable RESTful APIs and distributed systems in production environments
• Strong API design fundamentals and system architecture skills, with 80-90% of work being backend-focused
• Enterprise platform experience with modern API building blocks including OAuth, CLIs, and related integration patterns
• Track record of leading technical projects across multiple teams, managing cross-team contracts and complex dependencies
• Demonstrated operational excellence with end-to-end service ownership, including production operations and incident response
• Experience treating enterprise IT and security administrators as primary users, understanding their needs for governance, compliance, and control
• Comfort with AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot
• Strong communication skills and ability to own product decisions

Bonus qualifications: Experience with zero-downtime migrations on live systems, metering or quota systems, compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, C5), and frontend development with React/TypeScript.
