About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential advanced energy technology organization based in Munich. This is a unique opportunity to work on next-generation simulation platforms that support cutting-edge research and development in a high-growth technical environment.

We're seeking a Software Engineer to join their simulation platform team, where you'll build tools that accelerate complex engineering workflows and enable cross-functional collaboration between researchers and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for large-scale simulation and design workflows
  • Build and optimize cloud-based data storage and management systems
  • Develop applications that facilitate cross-domain collaboration and knowledge discovery
  • Automate complex simulation workflows for human and AI-assisted use
  • Work directly with research teams to apply platform tools to specific technical use cases
  • Guide users in maximizing available simulation tooling and proactively co-develop solutions that accelerate R&D programs
  • Integrate AI tools where they provide meaningful leverage to the platform

What We're Looking For

  • Strong software development skills with a user-first mindset
  • Proficiency in Python (required)
  • Interest in tackling diverse challenges from scientific computing optimization to cloud-based systems and web development
  • Familiarity with any of the following is desirable: Pydantic, JAX, full-stack web development (React, TypeScript, FastAPI), cloud services and applications, data management systems
  • Enthusiasm for staying current with software development best practices, including agentic development and modern data pipelines
  • Continuous learning attitude with ability to absorb domain knowledge in a dynamic startup environment
  • Comfortable diving into new problem spaces and working collaboratively with technical researchers
