Senior Project Manager BESS (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy in Germany that is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Our talent team is conducting a targeted search for experienced professionals who can manage complex energy storage projects from planning through commissioning in the German market.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge renewable energy infrastructure projects that are critical to Germany's energy transition. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle of BESS installations, working with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with German regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage BESS projects with a focus on the German market, from initial planning through successful commissioning
• Navigate German permitting requirements and regulatory frameworks for energy storage installations
• Support procurement activities and lead tender and contract award processes
• Provide oversight during construction and commissioning phases
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure quality assurance and quality control standards are met
• Support business development efforts in acquiring new project opportunities

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable field
• 6–8 years of professional experience with electrical installations in Germany
• Demonstrated experience in planning renewable energy facilities, battery energy storage systems, or other electrical installations within Germany
• Strong understanding of German permitting processes and regulatory requirements for energy projects
• German and English language proficiency at C1 level
• Willingness to travel as required for project needs
• Valid driver's license
