QA Engineer – US Remote

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a QA Engineer to join their growing team. Our client is an established player in the health IT space, providing mission-critical software solutions that support clinical workflows across hospitals, health systems, and medical practices nationwide. This is a fully remote position based in the USA.

In this role, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and safety of healthcare software products through rigorous manual and automated testing. As an individual contributor, you will deliver work independently within your team while growing toward owning more complex testing challenges. Given the healthcare environment where reliability and security directly affect patient care, this role demands both technical excellence and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Execute and maintain manual test cases across web and API-based healthcare applications
• Document defects clearly with reproducible steps, expected vs. actual results, and severity classification
• Write and maintain automation scripts to expand test coverage and integrate into CI/CD pipelines
• Apply API testing tools to validate backend services and data integrity
• Execute assigned test plans and develop your own test plans for features you own
• Manage test coverage to ensure comprehensive validation across functional, regression, and compliance scenarios
• Maintain QA environment integrity, including test data management and configuration consistency
• Ensure HIPAA compliance is validated through appropriate test coverage and documentation
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Partner with development engineers to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, and validate fixes
• Collaborate with product team members to understand acceptance criteria and edge cases
• Report defect status and communicate test results to stakeholders with clarity and timeliness
• Contribute to QA planning and understand how your work supports broader release goals

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 2–4 years of professional QA engineering experience
• Hands-on experience executing test cases and documenting defects with precision
• Demonstrated experience with test automation frameworks and scripting
• Working knowledge of API testing tools and methodologies
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and quality metrics
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset
• Willingness to learn, act on feedback, and continuously improve your craft

Preferred:

• Experience testing software in a HIPAA or HITRUST-regulated healthcare environment
• Background in performance testing and security testing practices
• Experience building test automation frameworks from the ground up
