Senior Fullstack Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer for their Munich office. Our client operates at significant scale in the payments infrastructure space, enabling seamless integration between major platforms and global payment networks. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week on-site in Munich.

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will drive core technical decisions, solve complex engineering challenges, and mentor colleagues while maintaining hands-on involvement. You'll own end-to-end development processes for key products including accounting and reporting systems, working with modern technologies to deliver scalable solutions that serve millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Own complete software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through production deployment for accounting and reporting systems
• Drive technical architecture decisions and participate in setting technical direction for the team
• Build and maintain systems using modern technologies including React Query and gRPC at massive scale
• Take end-to-end operational responsibility for team-owned components and services
• Mentor engineering colleagues and advance team best practices through knowledge sharing
• Continuously improve development processes based on data, feedback, and evolving business needs
• Collaborate within a small, agile team environment with high autonomy

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• 5+ years of professional experience with Java/Kotlin and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong expertise with modern frameworks including Spring Boot and React
• Extensive AWS experience with focus on cost-efficient architecture (SNS/SQS, Kinesis, Lambdas)
• Deep understanding of event-driven and microservice architectures, including patterns like Event Sourcing, CQRS, and Anti-corruption layers
• Experience leading design solutions from conception through measurable impact
• Confident AI-augmented development experience with emphasis on solution quality and cost efficiency
• Working proficiency in English

Valued Attributes:

• Experience with or strong interest in accounting systems or ledger complexities
• Terraform experience for infrastructure as code
