Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential developer tools organization seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their core engine team in London. In this role, you will design and implement agentic tools that provide AI coding agents with deeper context about codebases, improving both speed and task performance at scale.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Translating product requirements into agentic tools and services, shipping them to production environments
- Scaling prototypes to support large user bases
- Improving and testing semantic search services for code retrieval
- Building comprehensive evaluation pipelines for code retrieval and coding task performance metrics
What We're Looking For
Our client requires a candidate with:
- At least five years of hands-on NLP experience
- Demonstrated experience building information retrieval systems
- Strong expertise in LLM prompt engineering, tool engineering, and AI agents
- Solid programming skills in Python and/or Kotlin, with willingness to learn the unfamiliar language
- Proven track record building and operating production-grade software systems
Preferred qualifications include:
- Development experience in Kotlin or Java
- Prior work with code intelligence tools such as AST or symbol graphs
