Senior Business Transformation Advisor – Planning & Materials Management

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential European manufacturing organization in their search for a Senior Business Transformation Advisor specializing in Planning and Materials Management. This position is based in Düsseldorf and offers the opportunity to drive meaningful process improvements across procurement, supply chain planning, and ERP systems.

Our client is seeking an experienced professional who can independently lead transformation sub-projects, develop functional specifications, and optimize upstream supply chain operations through hands-on ERP configuration and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage sub-projects within larger transformation initiatives
• Serve as the transformation representative in discussions with management units and external partners
• Develop functional specifications, process improvements, and organizational designs for planning and procurement functions
• Drive ERP-related improvements in supply planning, scheduling, MRP, and materials management, including configuration and testing
• Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure adoption of new standards and processes
• Perform hands-on validation, testing, data analysis, and issue resolution
• Expand expertise into adjacent business areas such as manufacturing, order-to-cash, quality, and finance
• Mentor and support junior team members

What We're Looking For

Education:

• University degree in Business Administration, STEM field, or related discipline

Experience:

• Several years of experience in business transformation, project management, or consulting
• Proven ERP configuration experience in planning-related modules including Supply Planning, Scheduling, MRP, and Procurement/Materials Management
• Track record of managing cross-functional projects and implementing new processes or IT solutions
• Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups across organizational levels

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Technical expertise in at least two areas: Demand Planning, Production Scheduling, Procurement, Supply Planning and MRP, or Workforce Planning
• Additional strengths in project management, change management, and stakeholder management
• Hands-on mindset for testing, data analysis, and issue resolution
• Willingness to learn and expand knowledge into adjacent business areas
• Clear and effective communication skills in English
• Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA and SharePoint
• Willingness to travel approximately four days per week
