Video Editor / Cutter für Instagram & Podcast (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential LinkedIn marketing agency based in Cologne. Our client is seeking a skilled video editor to support ongoing content production for Instagram and podcast formats. This is a remote freelance or working student position with the potential for long-term collaboration.

Our talent team is looking for someone who understands social media dynamics—knowing when to cut, how to build tension, and how to create dynamic videos that hold attention without overwhelming viewers.

Responsibilities

• Edit Instagram Reels for the founder's personal brand account
• Review and edit bi-weekly podcast episodes
• Create two Reels from each podcast episode, selecting the most engaging moments
• Remove filler words, pauses, and unnecessary length
• Add subtitles, text overlays, zooms, music, sound effects, and supporting visuals
• Adapt videos to match existing brand style and aesthetics
• Format content appropriately for Instagram and other social media platforms
• Eventually edit additional formats such as customer interviews and case studies

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience editing Reels, podcasts, or other social media content
• Strong understanding of attention spans, storytelling, and viewer retention
• Instinct for creating strong hooks and compelling video openings
• Ability to identify key moments and soundbites from longer conversations
• Proficiency with professional video editing software
• Eye for subtitles, typography, and modern social media aesthetics
• Reliable and self-directed work approach
• Experience with Riverside recording platform is a plus but not required
• German language skills required for content comprehension

We need someone who doesn't just technically assemble footage, but understands why viewers stay engaged or scroll away. You should independently recognize which segments are compelling, where pacing needs adjustment, and how to develop multiple strong content pieces from longer recordings.
